As well as his role as Director of LPSRU, and principal investigator for each of our research projects, Andy is a consultant anaesthetist at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust and Visiting Professor of Clinical Anaesthesia at Lancaster University. He is the Co-ordinating Editor of the Cochrane Anaesthesia Group, an editor for Anaesthesia, and an academic advisor to the North West School of Anaesthesia Board. Linking evidence and practice has been a key driving force for his career. He has acted as expert advisor to national and international organisations including the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence and the World Health Organisation
