EVALUATION OF THE HELSINKI DECLARATION ON PATIENT SAFETY IN ANAESTHESIOLOGY
The Helsinki Declaration on Patient Safety in Anaesthesiology was launched in 2010 by the European Society of Anaesthesiology and the European Board of Anaesthesiology. It sets out a vision for patient safety in anaesthesiology and lays down specific standards to which European anaesthesiologists may aspire in practice.
LPRSU is conducting a two-year project, as part of the ESA's Helsinki Declaration Follow Up Project, to examine the uptake and implementation of the Helsinki Declaration, to map the extent of coverage, and identify regional differences and any discrepancies in implementation of its component elements.
Our mixed-methods study will engage with anaesthesiologists in European countries, and incorporate online surveys, telephone interviews, and observations in hospitals. You can find a copy of our protocol here.
