Lancaster Patient Safety and Health Services Research Unit was established as a Patient Safety Research Unit in 2008 following a successful application for development funding from the UK National Institute for Health Research. It was later renamed to reflect its broader focus. Based in the Research and Development department of Lancaster Royal Infirmary (University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust), LPSHSRU has a track record of conducting projects, including evaluation and evidence synthesis, within the fields of healthcare quality and safety.
