Lancaster Patient Safety Research Unit was established in 2008 following a successful application for development funding from the UK National Institute for Health Research.

Based in the Research and Development department of Lancaster Royal Infirmary (University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust), LPSRU has a track record of conducting projects, including evaluation and evidence synthesis, within the fields of healthcare quality and safety.
